This neutered, male cat has 4 bladder stones visible on x-ray #1. The stones did not dissolve with a prescription dissolution diet which likely indicates that they are Calcium Oxylate stones. X-ray #2 was taken after surgery by Dr. Bellrichard to remove the stones. Post surgery radiographs are always taken to ensure there are no remaining bladder stones.
The third picture are the stones Dr. Bellrichard removed from the bladder. These stones were very rough and irregular. One stone was sent to a laboratory for analysis. Once the type of stone is identified, a prescription diet can be dispensed to help prevent the formation of future bladder stones.
