Purrfect For Cats

Tail Injuries

This picture shows a 2 year old cat's end of tail which had a door closed on it at home by the family's children by mistake. The skin was pulled off when the cat jumped forward. A little but of the cocygeal (tail) vertebrae are visible. The kitty had a partial tail amputation and is doing fine. His tail will be a little shorter, but probably no one but the family will be able to tell.

This is the second cat with this injury seen within one week at St. Louis Cat Clinic.
