When a prescription refill request for food or medication is received our veterinarians take steps to ensure your pet is getting the correct items he or she needs.
After the request is received our staff pulls your cat’s record, gives it to the veterinarian who checks several things;
* Has the requested product been prescribed by a St. Louis Cat Clinic veterinarian
* Is the prescription for the correct cat in a multi-cat household
* Is the dosage and quantity ordered correct. Sometimes the dosage was changed and the wrong refill amount is ordered.
Often prescription refills are processed at the end of the day after our veterinarians have finished treating hospitalized and outpatient felines. This is why there is a 48-72 hours processing period for all refill requests.
