Consider this veterinary clinical trial
A nationwide clinical trial is under way to evaluate a new drug intended for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in cats as kidney disease and hypertension often occur together.
About the study
St. Louis Cat Clinic has joined veterinarians (investigators) across the United States who are studying a medication for potential use in treatment of hypertension in cats. If your cat has been diagnosed with chronic kidney insufficiency, you may consider having your pet screened for this study. If your cat is found to have hypertension and qualifies for inclusion, your cat can receive free veterinary care for study-related expenses while participating in this study. Additionally, you may help us find better treatments for this serious condition.
Go to www.mycatcanhelp.com for more detailed information on the study. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us for an appointment.
Kitties must be cooperative for all procedures. If your cat is taking Benazepril, we will take him/her off of that medication for 7 days prior to screening. If your cat is on long term Atenolol, Prednisolone, a NSAID and/or Amlodipine, your cat will not be eligible for screening.
The veterinarians and staff at St. Louis Cat Clinic are very excited to participate in this study and hope to advance research in treatment of hypertension and benefit our patients.
